The project

Three residential units on Streatley Road in Kilburn, north-west London, for Gage Properties. Floor-to-ceiling windows, a private entrance to each flat, and a separate work-from-home space in every one.

Layouts and specification

The layouts were reworked before a single finish was chosen.

The palette is quiet and hard-wearing: navy kitchen units against white marble, oak floors, black brassware throughout, and terrazzo across the bathroom walls and floors. Warm walnut appears in the fluted vanities — the one soft note in an otherwise cool scheme.

The bathrooms

The bathrooms carry the most detail. Sage green tile above, terrazzo below, and the two meeting on a line that runs level around the room.

The vanity is fluted walnut and wall-hung, with a round basin sitting proud of a white top. On a three-unit scheme there is no volume to hide behind, so the small rooms were given the same attention as the large ones.
