The project
Angel Village is a 1.7-acre gated community in the heart of Islington, EC1 — 130 apartments with generously planted courtyards and private green space, which is unusual for a central London postcode where most developments offer little more than a lobby and a lift.
The client appointed us for the complete interior proposition: spatial planning and floor plan optimisation through to full specification, CGIs, a VR show home, and the branding and marketing package including brochure, website and hoarding.
The brief was ambitious — a development that feels artisan and boutique despite its scale. The market here typically offers two choices: period stock conversions, or large impersonal apartment buildings. The client gave us complete freedom, and we set out to make a third: each apartment individually considered rather than produced from a template.
Every layout resolved before construction
We were engaged to optimise the apartment layouts before construction began. Working within the approved envelope, we reviewed each floor plate against the standard the brief demanded.
That work resolved the things that quietly ruin a buyer’s experience at this scale: awkward circulation, undersized entrance sequences, living rooms where furniture placement fights the geometry, bedrooms where the only viable bed position puts your back to the window. Wasted corridor space was reclaimed — no dead space in any apartment.
A specification that sets the development apart
In a sector dominated by grey kitchens we went the other way. Warm, natural wood kitchens anchor each apartment with substance and character, and the flooring is bright and generous — materials with genuine texture rather than the clinical polish of standard new-build.
The lighting reinforces it: warm colour temperatures throughout, with layered ambient and accent lighting so residents can shift the mood of a room. Bathrooms are finished to a spa-like standard with considered detailing.
Marketing built from the real specification
After the interior specification we produced the CGIs and the VR show home, so buyers experiencing the development virtually were seeing what they would walk into on completion.
We then developed the complete branding and marketing proposition — identity, brochure, website and hoarding — as an extension of the interiors for the pre-launch. The brand communicates the same warmth a buyer meets when they walk through the door.
The pre-launch marketing was produced under the scheme’s original name, Angel Gate, which is the name carried on the brochure, website and hoarding shown here. The development was renamed Angel Village and relaunched.
The VR show home
Results
The VIP launch took place in January 2026. Within one month, sixty per cent of Phase 1 — roughly 53 of 88 apartments — had sold, all to domestic buyers rather than investors.
We were credited by name in national press coverage as the luxury interior architects who reimagined the space to create modern, light-filled homes.
It went on to be one of the strongest-selling schemes in London in 2026.
The launch
“Sixty percent of Phase 1 sold within one month of launch — all to domestic buyers. Not investors speculating on future value, but people choosing Angel Village as a home.”
This project was delivered under the Ademchic brand.
